JCI Antigua Earns Top Regional Awards as Antigua Concludes Historic 2026 Conference of the Americas
JCI Antigua says it ended the 2026 Conference of the Americas on a high note after securing multiple Top 3 placements during the Awards and Closing Ceremony, while also marking the official handover of hosting duties to JCI Brazil for next year’s conference.
The organisation announced that it placed among the top entries in several categories at the regional conference hosted by JCI West Indies in Antigua and Barbuda.
Among the awards earned were Top 3 placements for Best Local Growth and Development Project for “Aspire to Inspire” and Best Human Duties Project for “A Day of Duty & Giving.”
JCI Antigua member Jawan Jackson was also recognised as one of the conference’s Most Outstanding New Members.
The closing ceremony also featured the ceremonial passing of the flag from JCI West Indies to JCI Brazil, officially bringing the 2026 Conference of the Americas to an end and signaling the start of preparations for the 2027 conference in Florianópolis, Brazil, scheduled for April 28 to May 1, 2027.
In a statement reflecting on the event, JCI Antigua described the conference as a “historic reality” for the island and thanked Conference Director Shenella Govia and her team for their “dedication, sacrifice, and hard work” over the past three years.
The organisation also thanked volunteers, sponsors, partners and delegates for supporting the conference and embracing Antigua and Barbuda during the regional gathering.
“As the curtains close on this memorable and historic occasion, we are grateful for the lessons learned, the friendships built, and the opportunities gained,” the statement said.
