The rise of Chargers Volleyball program continues to reshape the future of volleyball in Antigua and Barbuda, as three of its development teams have now captured the top positions in the national Development Division competitions — a powerful testament to years of sacrifice, structure, discipline, and unwavering belief in youth development.
In the Female Volleyball Development Division, Falcons Volleyball Team secured the coveted first-place position, with an undefeated record in the season, while Eagles 2 claimed an impressive second-place finish, firmly establishing Chargers Volleyball as the dominant force in female youth volleyball development.
On the male side, Momentum Volleyball Team powered its way to first place in the Men’s Volleyball Development Division, with an undefeated record in the season, showcasing the growing depth, competitiveness, and technical growth of the Chargers male program.
These victories are not isolated achievements. They are the result of countless hours of training, mentorship, transportation challenges, fundraising efforts, emotional support, and the collective commitment of coaches, parents, volunteers, supporters, and athletes who refused to quit even during difficult moments.
For Chargers Volleyball, this triumph represents far more than trophies and standings. It represents a vision coming to life.
For years, the program has focused not only on producing skilled volleyball players, but also on building disciplined young people with confidence, teamwork, resilience, leadership, and purpose. Many of these athletes entered the program with little experience, limited opportunities, and uncertainty about their own abilities. Through guidance and structure, they have grown into confident competitors capable of excelling under pressure.
Head Coach of the Chargers Female Volleyball Program, Rosemarie Simon, praised the commitment and maturity of the young women throughout the season.
She stated:
“I am extremely proud of these young ladies. What people see on game day is only a small part of the journey. These players trained hard, sacrificed, supported each other, and continued to grow mentally and emotionally throughout the season. Falcons and Eagles 2 earned these results through discipline, teamwork, and heart. This is proof that investment in youth development works.”
Simon also highlighted the role of parents and supporters who consistently stood behind the athletes.
“The parents have been phenomenal. Their encouragement, transportation support, sacrifices, and belief in the program helped make this possible. We are building a family culture within Chargers Volleyball, and everyone shares in this success.”
Meanwhile, Head Coach of the Chargers Men’s Program, Frank Schwartz, described Momentum’s championship run as the product of persistence and accountability.
“Momentum’s success came from hard work and consistency. These young men bought into the process. They trained with intensity, accepted coaching, and pushed each other to improve every week. What makes me most proud is not just the title, but the growth in character, confidence, and discipline that we’ve seen from these players.”
Schwartz added that the achievements signal the growing strength of the Chargers development pipeline.
“This is only the beginning. Chargers Volleyball is creating a system where young athletes can develop properly over time. The future of volleyball in Antigua and Barbuda is bright if we continue to invest in our youth.”
The achievements of Falcons, Eagles 2, and Momentum also reflect the broader mission of Chargers Volleyball — to create opportunities for young people through sport while providing mentorship, positive guidance, safe spaces, and pathways toward personal and athletic growth.
The success of the Chargers teams has also generated growing admiration throughout the volleyball community, with many recognizing the organization as one of the most active and impactful youth development programs in Antigua and Barbuda.
From beginners learning the fundamentals to competitive athletes fighting for championships, Chargers Volleyball continues to prove that when young people are given structure, encouragement, and opportunity, extraordinary things can happen.
As the season closes with Falcons crowned champions, Eagles 2 securing second place, and Momentum standing atop the men’s division, one thing is now undeniable:
Chargers Volleyball is not simply building teams.
It is building a legacy.
