The daughter of veteran calypsonian Singing Althea says her mother, known as “Mama Rose,” was robbed of her gold chain outside their home on Friday morning in what she described as a violent attack.

In a social media post, Singing Althea Williams alleged that the assailant slammed her mother into a wall before snatching the chain from her neck.

“To the vampires who robbed my mom of her gold chain this morning right infront of our home, slamming her into the wall just to grab her chain from her neck,” Williams wrote.

The post, accompanied by what appeared to be surveillance footage from the area, sparked concern online, with many expressing sympathy for Mama Rose and outrage over the incident.

It was not immediately clear whether any arrests had been made or if police had issued an official statement on the matter.
