Dedicated election staff, security personnel and political representatives were up early this morning preparing polling stations across Antigua and Barbuda for the start of voting.

The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission confirmed that returning officers and their teams were in position ahead of the 6 a.m. opening of polls for the 2026 general election.

In a message shared earlier, the Commission declared: “Today is the day! General Elections 2026! Returning Officers and their teams are in place for the opening of the polls at 6 am. Are you ready?!”

Polling stations opened on schedule nationwide, with officials and party agents ensuring all systems were in place for a smooth start to voting.

Security personnel are also deployed across polling divisions to maintain order as electors cast their ballots throughout the day.
