ABLP Leader Urges Voters to Renew ID Cards Ahead of April 30 Poll

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) leader Gaston Browne has urged voters to update their identification cards ahead of the April 30 general election, warning that failure to do so could prevent them from casting their ballots.

Addressing supporters at the party’s campaign launch at People’s Place, Browne made a direct appeal to eligible voters to ensure they are properly registered and prepared for election day.

“Those of you who have not renewed your cards… do so immediately,” Browne said as he emphasized the importance of readiness.

He cautioned that delays could result in voters being unable to participate, adding that citizens should avoid taking any chances as the election approaches.

“Do not run any possibility of being disenfranchised inadvertently,” he said.

Browne also encouraged supporters to turn out early on polling day, stressing that participation will be critical in determining the country’s direction.

The call comes as electoral preparations intensify ahead of Nomination Day on April 13, with authorities and political parties urging voters to complete the necessary steps to ensure they can vote.

The general election is scheduled for April 30.
