Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle believed to be involved in an illegal dumping incident, warning that once the individual is located the matter will be taken before the court.

Investigators say they are continuing efforts to determine who was responsible for disposing of refuse at an unauthorized location and are urging residents with any information to come forward.

Police stressed that cooperation from members of the public is critical in resolving such cases and holding offenders accountable.

“The police can’t be everywhere at the same time,” an officer said while appealing for assistance from residents who may have witnessed the incident or have information that could help identify the driver.

Authorities said tips from the community often play a vital role in addressing illegal dumping and other environmental offences, particularly in cases where officers are not present when the act occurs.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is being asked to contact the police so that the matter can be pursued through the courts once the suspect is identified.
