Prime Minister Gaston Browne says work will soon begin on a major $100 million national road improvement project, with the first $10 million drawdown expected to fund upgrades starting with All Saints Road.

Speaking on the _Browne and Browne Show_ on Pointe FM, Browne said the government has completed most of the preparatory work required by the lending institution and is now awaiting final clearance to access the funds.

“The bank has requested some documentation on All Saints Road to justify the first drawdown… which will be $10 million,” Browne said. “Once that’s completed, we’ll move quickly to begin the work.”

The prime minister said the project represents a major phase in the government’s broader national infrastructure agenda, which includes extensive road resurfacing, bridge and culvert repairs, and improved drainage systems across the island.

He said the government remains committed to maintaining the momentum of its public works programme, crediting local contractors, engineers, and road crews for their contribution to the island-wide effort.

“This is about improving access, safety, and overall quality of life for our people,” Browne said. “We’re ensuring that communities that have been neglected for years will finally see lasting improvements.”

The upcoming works on All Saints Road will follow recent upgrades along major routes, including Valley Road North, Anchorage Road, and the Sir Sydney Walling Highway, which have been part of the Ministry of Works’ ongoing national road rehabilitation programme.

Browne said the new financing will help sustain those gains and expand the reach of road development to more rural and residential areas.

“Our goal is to make sure that every community benefits from reliable, well-built roads,” he said. “It’s about continuing the progress we’ve already made and ensuring that development reaches everyone.”
