The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has paid tribute to worker Okeen Lightfoot following his death in Tuesday’s tragic roadside accident on All Saints Road.

In a condolence message released on Tuesday, the agency expressed “heartfelt condolences on the tragic passing of our colleague, Okeen Lightfoot.”

“Our prayers & thoughts goes out to his family, friends and colleagues,” the statement added.

Lightfoot died after he was reportedly struck by a vehicle while carrying out roadside duties along All Saints Road. The incident has shocked co-workers and members of the public, prompting renewed calls for greater caution by motorists near roadside workers.

Earlier Tuesday, Health Minister Michael Joseph also visited the scene and appealed for increased vigilance and responsibility on the nation’s roads.
