    Cavel Brown and Twini Payne Face Multiple Firearm and Ammunition Charges

    TWO CHARGED WITH FIREARM AND AMMUNITION OFFENCES

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda

    The police have arrested and formally charged two persons in connection with separate firearm and ammunition seizures carried out during police operations on Wednesday, May 6.

    Cavel Brown of Freetown was charged with Unlawful Possession of a modified flare gun, and Unlawful Possession of three (3) 9mm rounds of ammunition. The offences allegedly occurred around 4:05 a.m. at Freetown.

    Meanwhile, 45-year-old Twini Payne of Collins was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, to wit one Taurus G25 9mm pistol, Unlawful Possession of a Magazine, and Unlawful Possession of three (3) rounds of 9mm ammunition.

    Both individuals are expected to appear before the court sometime next week.

    The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to intensify operations aimed at removing illegal firearms and ammunition from the nation’s streets and is urging members of the public to cooperate with the police in their fight against gun-related crimes.

    Anyone with information relating to illegal firearms is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
