    Meteorological Service Pays Tribute to Pioneering Forecaster Philbert Mason

    Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service: The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service (ABMS) mourns the passing of Mr. Philbert Mason, former Deputy Director and a pioneering figure in meteorology in Antigua and Barbuda, who passed away this morning in New York at the age of 75.

    Mr. Mason dedicated 37 years of service to the Meteorological Service, becoming a trusted and reassuring voice to the public, particularly during times of severe weather and hurricane threats. His professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence helped shape the development of meteorological services in Antigua and Barbuda.

    He will be remembered not only for his technical contributions, but also for his calm presence and his ability to communicate weather information with clarity and confidence, earning the trust of a nation.

    On behalf of the management and staff of the ABMS, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him. His legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.
