A murder case involving a Lower Ottos man has been adjourned again, more than a year after charges were first laid, as the file remains with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Deon Lloyd, 43, appeared in court this week, where prosecutors confirmed the matter has yet to move beyond its preliminary stage. The case was postponed to 26 June.

Lloyd is accused of murdering 35-year-old Javorn Williams on 2 January 2025 during a confrontation at Boggy Peak. Williams, a resident of Old Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later detained Lloyd while he was receiving treatment for injuries at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

He first appeared before the court in January last year and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison. His attorney is Wendel Alexander.

The case file has reportedly been with the DPP’s office since July, raising concerns about delays in progressing the matter.

Lloyd remains on remand as the case continues to face repeated adjournments.
