AN URGENT APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC: PLEASE HELP PROTECT VICTORY CENTRE!

Victory Centre School for Children with Special Needs has experienced a series of break-ins and attempted robberies, leaving our school community heartbroken and exhausted.

Last year, essential items, including an air conditioner and microwave, were stolen. Although generous donations and school savings allowed us to replace them, the replacement items were taken approximately one week later.

With support from fundraisers, parents, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, and businesses , we strengthened the school’s security by installing cameras and burglar bars. Despite these efforts, the incidents continue.

Yesterday, we celebrated the handover of our hydroponics project, a meaningful achievement for students who worked tirelessly to grow their produce.

Sadly, just after 6:00 a.m. this morning, our security cameras captured an individual, believed to be connected to the incidents, pulling out premature lettuce before it was ready for harvest.

This is truly disheartening.

To others, these items or crops may seem insignificant. To our students, they represent practical skills, confidence, independence, joy, and hope. They were looking forward to harvesting their produce and using the proceeds to participate in enriching social activities.

To the person or persons responsible: PLEASE STOP AND LEAVE OUR SCHOOL ALONE!

Our students deserve to learn, grow, and enjoy the fruits of their hard work without losing opportunities because of someone else’s actions.

WE NEED THE PUBLIC’S HELP!

Attached are video recordings showing an individual, sometimes accompanied by others, allegedly attempting to enter the school premises. If you recognize anyone shown or have information that may assist the investigation, please contact the nearest police station. Please do not confront anyone.

Share this appeal and help us protect our students and bring these incidents to an end.

Victory Centre is more than a school. It is a place of learning, inclusion, growth, and opportunity for children with special needs.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through donations, fundraising, advocacy, and kindness. Your help means more than words can express.

OUR STUDENTS DESERVE BETTER. OUR SCHOOL DESERVES BETTER. PLEASE HELP US PROTECT THEIR FUTURE.
