The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, in collaboration with RestoringVision, continues its community-based rollout of the Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative, with the programme moving to different locations to serve residents across the country.
As part of this week’s schedule, the initiative is serving residents in the Clare Hall and surrounding areas but the Clare Hall Health Centre does not have the adequate space required to accommodate the various stages of the vision programme, including participant registration, vision screening, the selection of reading glasses and the distribution of glasses.
As a result, the St. John’s Rural East Community Centre has been selected as the venue for the programme for the next two weeks, beginning Monday, October 5.
The decision is intended to ensure that sufficient space is available to facilitate the programme efficiently and to provide participants with a comfortable and organised experience throughout the registration, screening, glasses selection and distribution process.
Residents are encouraged to visit the St. John’s Rural East Community Centre during the two-week period to access the services being offered through the initiative.
The Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with RestoringVision to expand access to vision screening and reading glasses for eligible residents across Antigua and Barbuda who are 40 years and over.
