Patients can now fill prescriptions at any hour at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre following the introduction of 24-hour pharmacy services.
The expanded schedule began Oct. 4, with the hospital pharmacy operating seven days a week, including overnight hours.
The change is intended to make medication more accessible, particularly for patients leaving the Emergency Room late at night and people who need prescriptions filled when other pharmacies may be closed.
The service is not limited to patients treated at the hospital. Members of the general public can also use the pharmacy, which will fill valid prescriptions issued by other health care providers.
The medical centre said the move is aimed at ensuring patients have reliable access to medication regardless of the time they require it.
The pharmacy is located on the second floor of the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, near the reception desk.
