BRIDGETOWN, Barbados — The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will attempt to capture their first Caribbean Premier League championship Sunday night when they face the Jamaica Kingsmen in the 2026 final at Kensington Oval.

The championship match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Barbados and Antigua time and brings together two franchises seeking their first CPL title.

Antigua and Barbuda enter the final after producing one of the most dominant performances of the playoffs, crushing the Guyana Amazon Warriors by nine wickets in Qualifier 1.

The Falcons bowled out Guyana for just 76 in 15 overs before racing to 77 for one in only 5.2 overs. Shadab Khan led the destruction with a hat-trick as the Falcons became the first team to secure a place in the final.

The victory also gave the Falcons additional rest while Jamaica was forced to navigate two knockout matches to reach Sunday’s championship game.

The Kingsmen first eliminated the Barbados Tridents by nine wickets before producing a dramatic five-wicket victory over Guyana in Qualifier 2 on Friday night.

Guyana posted 206 for four behind an unbeaten century from Shimron Hetmyer, but Jamaica successfully chased 207 with three balls remaining.

Maaz Sadaqat gave the Kingsmen a flying start with 41 from 14 deliveries, while captain Rovman Powell finished unbeaten on 40 from just 17 balls to help carry Jamaica into the final.

Powell said after the victory that Jamaica would use the short turnaround to prepare plans for the Falcons’ match-winners. The Kingsmen have recovered from an uneven start to the tournament and have found their strongest form during the knockout stage.

The Falcons, captained by former England international Moeen Ali, will be looking to carry the momentum from their emphatic victory over Guyana into the championship match.

Moeen and Powell appeared Saturday at the official pre-final captains’ press conference ahead of the showdown.

For Antigua and Barbuda, the final represents the biggest match in the young franchise’s history. The Falcons joined the CPL in 2024 and will now have an opportunity to bring the tournament trophy to Antigua and Barbuda for the first time.

The final will also close the 2026 CPL season, which began Aug. 7 and concludes Sunday at Kensington Oval.
