Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Hon. Gaston Browne connects with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at the closing of SIDS Global Business Network Forum

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he will not deliver a formal address at the United Nations General Assembly this year.

Browne disclosed the decision Saturday on the Browne and Browne Show while outlining a busy overseas travel schedule.

“There will be no formal statement for me this year at the United Nations,” Browne said.

However, he will travel to New York for UN Week and participate in bilateral meetings with heads of government and other delegations.

The prime minister did not publicly explain why he would not address the General Assembly.

He is scheduled to leave Antigua and Barbuda on Monday for the United Kingdom, where he said he will have an audience with King Charles III on Wednesday. Browne expects to return home Friday before travelling to the United States the following Monday.
