Representatives of the Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union are participating in regional Public Services International meetings in Trinidad and Tobago this week.

ABWU President Kem Riley and Shawnella Jarvis, a shop steward at the Transport Board, are representing the union at PSI’s 2026 Sub-regional Advisory Women’s Committee and Sub-regional Advisory Committee meetings, being held from September 2 to 4.

Karis George, general secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Public Service Association, is also participating.

The meetings bring together trade union affiliates from across the sub-region to discuss issues affecting workers and identify priorities for the labour movement.

Participants are also expected to provide advice and guidance to PSI’s regional executive committees, with the discussions helping to shape recommendations and decisions at the regional level.

The ABWU said its participation reflects its commitment to strengthening cooperation among trade unions and ensuring that the concerns of Caribbean workers are represented in regional and international forums.
