ABS Television/Radio has announced that it will not be airing live broadcasts of Antigua Carnival 2026 events after receiving an order requiring a mandatory 24-hour delay in the rebroadcast of the shows.

In a programming notice issued on Tuesday, the state broadcaster said the directive was beyond its control.

“ABS has received an order – ‘Mandatory 24-Hour Delay Rebroadcasting of Antigua Carnival 2026 Shows.’ This is outside our control and we regret any inconvenience which this may cause,” the notice stated.

The broadcaster did not identify who issued the order or provide a reason for the delay. As a result, Carnival events scheduled for broadcast on ABS will instead be aired 24 hours after they take place.
