    Antigua and Barbuda Unveils National Basketball Team for FIBA Caribbean Qualifiers

    The Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) is pleased to announce its senior men’s national team that will contest the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Caribbean Qualifiers in Georgetown, Guyana.

    The July 8-12 competition will see Antigua and Barbuda compete in Group A versus home team, Guyana, Dominica, Turks and Caicos and Bermuda. Group B will feature Barbados, Haiti, Grenada, the Cayman Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

    The final 12 players are:

    1. Kareem Edwards – Cuties Ovals Ojays
    2. Jamine ‘Muff’ Charles – Lava Smoke Elite Stingerz
    3. Alexis Jackson – Lava Smoke Elite Stingerz
    4. Cohen Desouza – JSC Red Hawks
    5. Darnell Azille – Lava Smoke Elite Stingerz
    6. Seth Joseph – Lava Smoke Elite Stingerz
    7. Preston Merrick – Harvard University
    8. Xavier Spencer – Lindenwood University
    9. Jaden Andrew – Emory & Henley College
    10. T-Shawn Lewis – Da Project
    11. Danny Perez – Daryll Matthew Ottos
    12. Javonte Daley – EZ Fit Flyers

    The Head Coach is George Hughes and Assistant Coaches are Bradbury Browne and Cedric David.

    Team Operations Manager is Inga Francis, Players Manager – Christopher Khouly, Media Relations Officer – J’nai Spencer, Physiotherapist/Trainer – Natrecia Mussington, Equipment Manager – Marlon Charles and Head of Delegation – Vere Cornelius.

    Each team will face every opponent in its group once in a round-robin format. At the conclusion of the competition, the top team from each group will advance to the next round of the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Pre-Qualifiers, scheduled for November 2026.

    The Bulldogs will open their campaign on July 8 versus Bermuda, a day later it will be a rematch of the 2018 Caribbean Qualifiers finals with Antigua and Barbuda facing home team, Guyana.

    On July 11, the Bulldogs will play Dominica and to wrap up their campaign they will meet Turks and Caicos on July 12. The team will leave Antigua tomorrow.
