A High Court judge is expected to hear the trial of an entertainer in October after he denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman during an encounter in late 2024.

The man, who cannot be publicly identified because of legal restrictions, has pleaded not guilty to one count of serious indecency and one count of indecent assault. The charges arise from an alleged incident on Dec. 23, 2024.

The prosecution alleges that the complainant and another woman accepted what they believed was an offer of paid work at an event after being approached by the accused. Instead of being taken to the job, however, they were reportedly driven to the man’s residence.

Once there, investigators allege the accused attempted to involve both women in sexual activity. The complainant is alleged to have rejected his advances, after which he allegedly kissed her and touched her intimate areas without her consent.

The accused entered not guilty pleas when he appeared before the court on June 8.

The matter has since been committed to the High Court, where prosecutors are expected to rely on WhatsApp messages and other evidence during the proceedings.

The trial is scheduled to begin before Justice Ann Marie Smith on Oct. 5. The accused is represented by attorney Wendel Alexander.
