National cyclist Tahjé Browne has escaped serious injury following a training incident on Saturday, according to an update from the Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Federation.

The federation said medical examinations and diagnostic tests confirmed that Browne did not suffer any broken bones, fractures, or major arterial injuries.

While he sustained several cuts and bruises, including a significant laceration to his foot, Browne has received medical treatment and remains under observation as he begins his recovery.

The federation described the medical findings as encouraging news and expressed gratitude to the healthcare professionals and emergency personnel who responded to the incident.

“We are extremely grateful for the swift response and care provided by the medical team, emergency responders, and everyone who assisted throughout the day,” the organization said in a statement.

The federation also thanked members of the public, organizations, and supporters who offered prayers and messages of encouragement following news of the incident.

“Your support has meant a great deal to Tahjé, his family, and the cycling community,” the statement added.

The incident has also prompted renewed calls for greater road safety and awareness among motorists and cyclists.

The federation urged all road users to exercise patience, vigilance, and mutual respect, noting that cyclists train on the nation’s roads daily and that everyone shares responsibility for improving safety conditions.

Browne is expected to focus on rest and recovery in the coming weeks as he heals from his injuries. The federation asked the public to continue keeping the national cyclist in their thoughts and prayers during his recovery.
