ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda — The National Cleanup Programme is continuing environmental maintenance efforts in several communities, with crews carrying out grass cutting, bulk waste removal, tree trimming and drainage cleaning in parts of Rural East.
According to the National Solid Waste Management Authority, work is currently focused in the Skerritt’s Pasture and Mahico Drive areas and is progressing eastward toward Kings Glass Road before moving into the northern section of the constituency.
In the Sutherlands Development area, chainsaw operators and backhoe crews have been working together to remove overgrown trees and vegetation. Officials said the exercise is aimed at improving accessibility, enhancing public safety and creating a cleaner environment for residents.
The Authority said the ongoing operations form part of a wider effort to maintain roadways, clear drains and keep communities clean and orderly.
The cleanup campaign is expected to continue in additional areas as crews advance through the constituency.
