    Chinese Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Health Minister Michael Joseph – Antigua News Room

    The Honourable Michael Joseph, Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, recently welcomed Her Excellency Jiang Wei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda, during a courtesy visit at the Ministry’s headquarters.

    The visit provided an opportunity for Minister Joseph and Ambassador Jiang Wei to engage in meaningful discussions on areas of mutual interest, including healthcare development, wellness initiatives, environmental sustainability, capacity building, and opportunities for continued collaboration between Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China.

    Minister Joseph expressed appreciation for the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations, acknowledging China’s significant contributions to Antigua and Barbuda’s development over the years, particularly in the areas of healthcare, infrastructure, education, and technical assistance.

    “The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to identify key areas of mutual interest and potential pathways for cooperation that will further support the expansion and enhancement of healthcare services in Antigua and Barbuda,” Minister Joseph stated.

    “China has been a valued partner in Antigua and Barbuda’s development journey, and we look forward to strengthening this relationship as we work towards improving the health and well-being of our people,” Minister Joseph added.

    Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations and supporting Antigua and Barbuda’s national development priorities. She emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue in advancing initiatives that benefit both countries and their peoples.

    The discussions highlighted the shared commitment of both governments to fostering sustainable development, strengthening healthcare systems, and expanding opportunities for collaboration in areas that contribute to national growth and resilience.

    The courtesy visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to maintaining the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that have characterized relations between Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China.
