    Antigua Golfer Wins Caribbean Optimist Title in Barbados

    Antiguan golfer Marquis George has captured first place in the 16–18 category at the Caribbean Optimist Golf Championship in Barbados, earning praise from Clare Hall Secondary School and supporters at home.

    George represented Antigua and Barbuda at the regional tournament, where he secured the top spot against competitors from across the Caribbean.

    In a congratulatory message, Clare Hall Secondary School described the achievement as a display of “remarkable skill, discipline, and sportsmanship on the international stage.”

    The school also commended George for “flying the nation’s flag high with excellence and determination,” adding that his success serves as an inspiration to the wider school community.

    Photos shared online showed the young golfer receiving his medal and posing with his trophy following the competition.

    George’s victory adds to Antigua and Barbuda’s growing list of regional sporting accomplishments and highlights continued youth development in golf.
