Police are investigating an early morning shooting and vehicle chase along the Sir Sydney Walling Highway.

A police report said an officer spotted a white Honda CR-V travelling east near the Old Parham Road junction when two loud explosions were allegedly heard coming from the vehicle.

The officer reportedly fired warning shots into the air before pursuing the SUV. Additional officers later responded near Utopia Park, where the vehicle allegedly sped off again, prompting another chase during which several shots were fired at the fleeing vehicle.

    Investigations are ongoing.
