TWO SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING SHOOTING INCIDENT ON QUEEN ELIZABETH HIGHWAY
The police have arrested two male suspects in connection with a shooting incident that occurred along Queen Elizabeth Highway shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 26.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 28-year-old man of Grays Farm was standing in the vicinity of “Timmy Times” when a silver motor car traveling from east to west passed the area and several loud explosions were heard.
The man was reportedly shot in the process.
The injured man is currently receiving medical treatment at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for gunshot wounds. Medical officials have indicated that his injuries are not life-threatening; however, he is expected to undergo surgery.
Several vehicles parked in the area also sustained multiple damages, as a result of the incident.
Police have since recovered a firearm along with several spent shells from the scene.
The Police Administration wishes to reassure the public, that based on information received so far, the incident is not gang-related, neither was it politically motivated, or connected to the event held at the Rising Sun Grounds last evening.
The police strongly condemn this act of violence and continue to urge members of the public to support the efforts of the police in maintaining peace and security.
