ST JOHN’S, Antigua — Former Antigua and regional queen Ischikelle Corbin is thanking a group of mechanics for their swift assistance after a frightening vehicle malfunction left her struggling to maintain control on her way to work.

Corbin recounted that her car suddenly began “losing control out of nowhere,” skidding and making loud noises. She said she gripped the steering wheel to keep the vehicle steady, activated her hazard lights, and managed to pull off the road.

She came to a stop near a mechanic shop, where workers immediately rushed to help.

“They wasted absolutely no time coming to my rescue,” she said in a social media post.

According to Corbin, the mechanics assessed the issue and began repairs without hesitation, changing her tire and providing a temporary fix to get her safely back on the road. She noted that at no point did they ask for payment or provide a quote for the service.

“They were able to do a temporary solution for me to get to work and have a mechanic resolve later,” she said.

Corbin described the experience as potentially dangerous but expressed gratitude for the quick response and professionalism of the workers, adding that she intends to return to properly thank them.

She said the incident could have been far worse and used the post to highlight the business and the assistance she received.
