A resident of the Grays Hill community is urging authorities to repair a badly deteriorating road after a truck veered off the roadway and crashed into her property, damaging a parked vehicle and part of her home.

Video of the incident shows the truck leaving the road and entering a residential driveway before hitting the rear of a black sedan parked on the property. The vehicle then struck an outdoor air-conditioning condenser unit mounted along the side of the building.

The homeowner said she has repeatedly complained about the condition of the road but claims her requests for repairs have not been addressed.

“I’ve exhausted all options trying to get my road fixed,” she said, adding that she had contacted the public works department several times and even attempted to fill potholes herself.

She said the situation could have been far worse if someone had been outside at the time of the crash.

The resident is now calling on Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Works Minister Maria Browne to send a team to assess the road in the Grays Hill area.

Concerns about deteriorating roads have been raised in several communities across Antigua and Barbuda, particularly in hilly areas where damaged surfaces and potholes can pose risks to motorists and nearby homes.
