The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) will host its Lineworkers Rodeo 2026 on March 27 at the Rising Sun Grounds, where skilled utility workers will compete for a chance to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the regional competition in Dominica.

The event, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., will see APUA lineworkers demonstrate their technical abilities and safety skills in a series of challenges designed to reflect real-world electrical line work.

Competitions are expected to include speed climbing, hurtman rescue, earth installation, cutout installation, basketball, and a mystery event.

Organizers say the rodeo will determine the team that will represent Antigua and Barbuda at the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation Lineworkers Rodeo 2026 in Dominica, where the country will defend its 2025 championship title.

The event is open to the public, with organizers inviting residents to attend and support the workers who help power the nation. ⚡
