Prosecutors in the Nigel Christian murder trial turned to cellphone tracking evidence Tuesday, calling an FBI expert to map the movements of the accused on the day the customs officer was abducted and killed.

Christian, 44, was taken from his McKinnons home on July 10, 2020, and later found shot in Thibou’s. Lasean Bully, Wayne Thomas and Saleim Harrigan have pleaded not guilty.

The FBI agent, qualified in historical cellphone analysis, told the court that by reviewing call records and tower data, investigators can estimate where a phone was when calls were made or received. He analyzed records for Harrigan and a cooperating witness who said he drove the men that day.

The data placed both phones in the Cashew Hill area shortly before 3 p.m., then later near Christian’s home and along Friars Hill Road and Dickinson Bay. Subsequent pings tracked movement toward the area where the victim’s vehicle was found, with later activity recorded in Holberton and Gray Hill.

Harrigan’s phone showed a similar pattern of movement across several towers during the afternoon and evening, and the expert said all contact between the two men that day was initiated by Harrigan.

Under questioning from the defense, the agent accepted that phones can occasionally connect to more distant towers, though he described that as unusual.

The digital evidence aligns with earlier testimony from the cooperating witness, who outlined a series of stops before Christian was forcibly removed from his home.

The matter continues before Justice Rajiv Persaud, with the prosecution expected to call dozens more witnesses.
