In recognition of the Rotary District 7030 MOVES Initiative, the Rotary Club of Antigua, Rotaract Club of Antigua, and the Interact Clubs of St. Joseph’s Academy and Christ the King High School joined forces to host a dynamic Soca Fitness exercise session at the YMCA Sports Complex.

The initiative aligns with the four pillars of the District 7030 MOVES framework: MOVE to Participate, MOVE to Educate, MOVE to Action, and MOVE to Recognize.

Through music, movement, and mentorship, participants engaged in an energizing fitness experience designed to promote physical activity while raising awareness about the growing challenge of childhood obesity within our communities.

The vibrant session demonstrated how culturally relevant approaches such as soca fitness can serve as powerful tools for health education and behavioral change.

Youth leaders and Rotarians alike emphasized the importance of establishing healthy habits early, reinforcing the message that wellness is both a personal responsibility and a community priority.

The clubs extend sincere thanks to facilitator Shannan Lawes also known as Dancer Boy Shan for leading an engaging and impactful session that kept participants motivated and energized throughout.

This collaborative effort reflects the club’s continued commitment to health promotion, youth development, and community education.

By empowering young people to take active roles in wellness advocacy, the Rotary family continues to champion sustainable, community-driven solutions.

Together, we can change the story of obesity.
