All-rounder Demari Benta and fast bowler Glen Williams performed admirably in the recent Leeward Islands Hurricanes Series held at the Coolidge Cricket Grounds.

They both bowled excellently with Benta picking up a total of 10 wickets, and Williams bowled with great control picking up six wickets.

Observer caught up with Benta during the match and he said overall he felt great to have the opportunity to be playing in the series organised by the Leeward Islands Cricket Board.

He said, “I am happy with my performances. I haven’t done much with the bat but for the bowling department, I think I did fairly well, got wickets in each innings that I bowled in.”

He also expressed optimism in being selected for the Leeward Islands Hurricanes team as a batting all-rounder in the future.

Budding fast bowler Glen Williams also expressed satisfaction with his performances during the series.

He said, “My performance was good. I just wanted to work on my length some more and I was doing it pretty well. So, focusing on my length was the main task coming into this series. And doing well to make selectors look at me.”

He is also looking ahead to the proposed CPL bowling camp for fast bowlers that will be held by the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. He aspires to be a fast bowler one day and represent the Leeward Islands Hurricanes.
