Antigua and Barbuda’s athletes launched their 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign on Friday with competitors taking to the pool and the boxing ring on the opening day of competition.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Commonwealth Games campaign continues on Saturday with boxer Zalaan taking centre stage as the nation’s only scheduled competitor on Day Two of the Glasgow 2026 Games.

Zalaan will face Happy Ngwira of Malawi in the men’s 80-kilogram Round of 32. The bout is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Scotland time at SEC Centre Hall 5 , as the boxing competition continues with preliminary-round contests across multiple weight divisions.

Saturday’s boxing programme features Round of 32 bouts in the men’s 60kg and 80kg divisions, along with Round of 16 contests in the women’s 65kg and 70kg classes.

Competition also continues in the pool at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, where heats are scheduled in the women’s 200-metre freestyle, men’s 50-metre freestyle, women’s 100-metre backstroke, men’s 100-metre butterfly, women’s 100-metre breaststroke and men’s 400-metre freestyle, along with para-swimming events and the mixed 4×100-metre freestyle relay.

The evening session will feature semi-finals in the women’s 100-metre backstroke, men’s 50-metre freestyle and men’s 100-metre butterfly, as well as finals in the women’s 200-metre freestyle, men’s 50-metre backstroke and women’s 50-metre butterfly.

Antigua and Barbuda opened its Glasgow 2026 campaign on Friday with swimmers Aunjeliqué Liddie and Jadon Williez competing in their respective heats, while boxer Alston Ryan made his Commonwealth Games debut in the men’s 63.5kg division.

The Games continue through next week, with Antigua and Barbuda’s athletes looking to build momentum as competition intensifies across the programme.
