PM Says Area Near Stadium Is Not an Industrial Park
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has clarified that land near the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is not designated as an industrial park, despite ongoing commercial development in the area.
Responding to a question in Parliament, Browne said the area consists of individual land allocations made to private investors rather than a formally planned industrial park.
“We do not necessarily have an industrial park,” Browne told lawmakers. “The fact that a number of individuals have been given land in that area and that they’re building out various businesses, then I can understand. But it’s not an industrial park per se.”
The prime minister pointed to one development already underway, noting that businessman Craig White was granted approximately two acres of land and is constructing what he described as a hardware store.
“So it’s not an industrial park per se,” Browne reiterated.
