Two Antigua and Barbuda players were sent off for pulling the exceptionally long dreadlocks of Anguilla forward Aedan Scipio during a Concacaf Nations League match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Scipio, whose dreadlocks reach his ankles, entered the game as a substitute in the 69th minute with Anguilla trailing 5-0.

Just three minutes later, Antigua and Barbuda’s Keon Greene was shown a straight red card after pulling Scipio’s hair.

The unusual incident was repeated in added time when Shalon Knight grabbed Scipio’s dreadlocks from behind, pulling him to the ground. Knight was also dismissed, leaving Antigua and Barbuda with nine players.

Scipio, 36, keeps his dreadlocks secured around his body with a band while playing because of their length.

Anguilla entered the contest ranked 210th in FIFA’s world rankings, ahead of only San Marino.
