Antiguan and Barbudan pastry chef Gabrielle Thomas has been named Pastry Chef of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Baking Awards.

Thomas, who is associated with The Vanilla Orchid, secured the regional title while representing Antigua and Barbuda at the awards in Sint Maarten.

She was among nine bakers and pastry professionals from the twin-island nation nominated for recognition at this year’s event.

The Caribbean Baking Awards recognize leading bakers, pastry chefs, cake artists and culinary entrepreneurs from across the region. The awards form part of a three-day festival focused on baking, youth development, culinary tourism and regional cooperation under the theme “One Caribbean Baking Together.”

Thomas’ victory adds to Antigua and Barbuda’s growing presence in the Caribbean baking and pastry industry.
