    Chief Drug Inspector Alfred Athill Participates in Global Regulatory Summit

    Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Chief Drug Inspector in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, the Environment & Civil Service Affairs, Mr. Alfred Athill is presently attending the first “Global Drug Regulatory Conclave” been held at Bharat Mandapam New Delhi India July 30-31 2026.

    The Conclave is being jointly organized by the Central Drugs Standards Control Organization (CDSCO), Ministry of Health & Family Affairs, Government of India, the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) for India and the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council for India (PHARMEXCIL), with the support of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

    The Conclave is providing an opportunity for approximately sixty (60) delegates from forty (40) countries is serving as a premier international platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration among Heads of National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Authorities, Senior Regulatory Officials, Policymakers, Representatives of International Organization (USFDA and UKMHRA), Industry Leaders and Healthcare Stakeholders from across the globe. The Conclave is giving delegates an opportunity to deliberate on issues of strategic importance to Global Health including Regulatory Convergence, Market Authorization pathways, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Reliance, Emerging Technologies and Strengthening resilience in pharmaceutical chains.

    The government of India is promoting its Pharmaceutical Sector and by extension the country as the “World Pharmacy” and is investing heavy in ensuring that this message gets out to the global community.

    As a member of the Pharmacy Council which is the country’s Pharmaceutical Regulatory Authority, Mr. Athill intends to discuss with his colleagues how the country can benefit from some of the information garnered at the Conclave.
