The Prime Minister reminded Cabinet colleagues of the solemn commitment made to the electorate following the resounding mandate granted to the Government at the last General Elections.
He emphasized that the confidence reposed in the administration by the people of Antigua and Barbuda carries with it an unwavering responsibility to deliver meaningful results and to remain focused on improving the lives of citizens.
The Prime Minister urged Cabinet members to continue serving the people faithfully, with diligence, humility and a renewed sense of purpose.
He stressed that the Government’s agenda must be driven by tangible outcomes that directly benefit communities across the nation and reaffirmed Cabinet’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made to the electorate.
In outlining key priorities for the remainder of the term, the Prime Minister highlighted the Government’s ambitious infrastructure programme, noting that the administration is committed to completing no less than seventy-five percent of the nation’s road network within the next four years.
He also pointed to plans to scale up preparations and infrastructure for Carnival, the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and other major national events, expand and modernize street lighting across communities, increase tree planting and environmental beautification initiatives, and intensify efforts to create cleaner communities throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
Additionally, the Prime Minister advised Cabinet that the programme for the removal of derelict and abandoned vehicles from communities will continue as part of the Government’s broader strategy to improve public spaces, enhance community aesthetics, and promote a healthier and safer environment for all citizens.
Cabinet reaffirmed its collective resolve to honour the trust placed in it by the people and to continue advancing policies and programmes that support national development and improve the quality of life for all Antiguans and Barbudans.
