    Senior Surgeon Found Dead Outside Belmont Home – Antigua News Room

    Police are investigating the death of Dr. Krishna, a senior surgeon at Mount St. John’s Medical Centre, who was found unresponsive outside his Belmont home on Friday.

    Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but he was pronounced dead. While preliminary reports suggest an accident may have occurred, authorities have not confirmed the cause or circumstances of his death.

    Police secured the area and launched an investigation. Mount St. John’s Medical Centre had not issued a statement up to press time. Further details are expected as inquiries continue.

    UPDATE: Tributes are being paid to Dr. Radhakrishnan Krishna, the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre surgeon who died on Friday.

    Friends, colleagues and former patients have remembered him as a caring doctor who dedicated years to serving the community.

    Many described him as a respected surgeon and mentor whose work touched countless lives.

    Messages of sympathy have also been extended to his family, with healthcare workers calling his death a major loss for the nation’s medical sector.

    Dr. Krishna was found outside his Belmont home on Friday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police have not released a cause of death and investigations are continuing.

    Since news of his passing emerged, social media has been filled with condolences and tributes from people who praised his professionalism and compassion.

    It is with profound sadness that the Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda Inc. (MAAB) announces the sudden passing of Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan, a veteran surgeon affectionately known to all as Dr. Krishnan.

    At the time of his passing, Dr. Krishnan was an active and dedicated member of our medical community, continuing his vital work at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre alongside managing his private practice.

    Dr. Krishnan was a charismatic doctor and a master of his craft, possessing surgical skills that inspired all who worked alongside him. Beyond his exceptional clinical capabilities, he was a pillar of guidance—serving as a generous mentor and trusted advisor to countless medical professionals in Antigua and Barbuda.

    On behalf of the Executive and general membership of the MAAB, we extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to our colleague, his beloved wife, Dr. Saravana Sabharmathi, and his children.

    Our thoughts and prayers are firmly with his family, colleagues, patients, friends, and the entire medical fraternity as we navigate this monumental loss.
