_POLICE RECOVER LARGE CACHE OF SUSPECTED STOLEN ITEMS; FORT ROAD MAN IN CUSTODY_
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Sunday, May 31, 2026
A Fort Road resident is currently in police custody assisting investigators after police recovered a large cache of suspected stolen property during the execution of a search warrant at his home on Sunday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m. on May 31, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force executed a search warrant at a property in the Fort Road area and discovered a significant quantity of electronic equipment, household appliances, hardware supplies, construction materials, power tools, generators, air-conditioning units, cellular phones, and other valuable items.
Among the items recovered were televisions, stoves, microwave ovens, blenders, pressure cookers, rice cookers, ceiling fans, air fryers, generators, compressors, chain saws, drills, sanders, weed trimmers, water pumps, air-conditioning units, fencing wire, electrical supplies, bathroom fixtures, projectors, tool kits, and several cellular phones.
The occupant of the property was arrested on suspicion of Larceny and Receiving and was transported to the St. John’s Police Station along with the recovered items.
Police are now appealing to members of the public who may have recently reported items stolen from their homes, businesses, construction sites, or storage facilities to contact the Criminal Investigations Department.
Individuals who believe any of the recovered property may belong to them are encouraged to visit the CID and provide proof of ownership to assist investigators with the identification process.
The police are continuing investigations into the matter and are working to determine the origins of the recovered items and whether they may be linked to a number of reported larcenies and burglaries across the island.
