Community First Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. (CFCCU) has launched the Ruth O. Limerick Scholarship Fund aimed at assisting members pursuing tertiary education.
According to the announcement, the scholarship programme will provide financial assistance to three final-year university students, with each recipient receiving EC$6,000 to help cover expenses related to their studies.
CFCCU said the initiative reflects the institution’s longstanding commitment to education.
“As a Credit Union started by teachers, education is very important to us,” the notice stated.
The scholarship is open to citizens of Antigua and Barbuda who are enrolled in an accredited university and are in the final year of study leading to a bachelor’s degree.
Selection criteria include active membership with Community First Co-operative Credit Union, academic performance, financial need, educational and career goals, character, and extra-curricular involvement.
The credit union also noted that scholarships for study at non-regional institutions would only be considered where the course of study is unavailable locally or regionally.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, June 12.
