The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) is reminding customers to remain vigilant amid ongoing phishing attempts involving individuals falsely claiming to be representatives of APUA or inet.

APUA has received reports of customers being contacted by phone and asked to provide personal information, including email addresses and one-time passwords (OTP).

APUA wishes to make it absolutely clear that neither APUA nor inet will ever contact customers to request passwords, one-time passwords, banking information, or any sensitive account access details.

These calls are fraudulent and are being made by unscrupulous individuals attempting to gain unauthorized access to customer accounts.

    Customers are strongly advised to:

    • Refrain from sharing personal, banking, or account information over the phone

    • Never disclose one-time passwords to anyone

    • End the call immediately if such requests are made

APUA is urging the public to remain alert and to look out for one another. Customers are especially encouraged to inform and support vulnerable family members and loved ones, particularly the elderly, who may be more susceptible to these malicious activities.

APUA thanks the public for their vigilance and continued cooperation.
