The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party presented awards to several longstanding members in recognition of their loyalty and service during the closing segment of its national convention on Sunday.
The ceremony took place after an address by political leader Gaston Browne, as the master of ceremonies called awardees to the stage one by one before presenting plaques.
Those honoured included Phillip Isaac Sr., Christine Anthony, Robertine De Silva, Leonard “Popcorn” Aaron and Conrad “Suki” Simon.
“In recognition of your unwavering loyalty, dedicated service, and steadfast commitment to the advancement of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party,” the inscription on the awards read as it was announced during the presentation.
The recognition segment formed part of the convention’s closing programme, which followed a day of speeches, candidate ratifications and cultural performances.
Delegates from all 17 constituencies attended the event at the party’s headquarters as the organisation prepares for the April 30 general election.
