Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s recent campaign launch drew significantly larger crowds than its previous election cycle, describing the turnout as a clear indication of growing support ahead of the general election.

Speaking on the _Browne and Browne Show_ , Browne said attendance at the event was “at least twice” that of the party’s 2023 launch, pointing to what he characterized as rising momentum for the governing party.

“I think indeed it was epic. The attendance from what I’ve seen would have been at least twice the amount of individuals who we had at the launch leading up to the 2023 elections,” Browne said.

He added that the atmosphere at the event reflected heightened enthusiasm among supporters, describing it as “electric” and indicative of stronger backing than in the previous election cycle.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the introduction of 10 new candidates at the launch, saying the additions form part of a broader effort to refresh the party’s lineup and attract younger talent.

“So it is evident now that we have stronger support than the last general elections,” he said.

Browne linked the increased turnout to what he described as the party’s record in office, as well as ongoing efforts to expand opportunities and strengthen the economy.

The ABLP is expected to continue its campaign activities in the coming weeks as political parties ramp up engagement ahead of the anticipated election.
