Adrian Williams has responded to remarks by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, saying leadership should be focused on solutions rather than personal attacks.

Williams’ statement comes after Browne, during a weekend radio appearance, revealed details of past conversations with the newly named United Progressive Party candidate.

Without directly addressing the substance of those claims, Williams emphasized what he described as the qualities of effective leadership.

“Leadership is not about tearing others down to gain attention,” Williams said. “It is about presenting real solutions, addressing the issues that matter, and earning the trust of the people through action.”

He added that political discourse should remain focused on delivery and vision.

“When the focus shifts to distraction instead of delivery, it reveals a lack of vision,” Williams said. “True leadership stands on results, not rhetoric.”

In a campaign message circulated publicly, Williams took a stronger stance, stating: “Slander is not strategy. Defamation is not leadership. Let policies speak. Let results lead.”

The comments mark his first public response since Browne indicated that he may disclose information about previous discussions between the two.

Browne has not yet released details of those conversations, but said during the broadcast that he would share what Williams told him at a later time.

Williams’ response suggests he is seeking to center his campaign on issues and governance, as political tensions rise ahead of the anticipated general election.
