A fast-moving tropical wave near the Windward Islands is producing widespread showers and thunderstorms, with forecasters warning of heavy rainfall and gusty winds across parts of the Windward and Leeward Islands through Monday morning.

According to regional meteorological services, the system is travelling westward across the eastern Caribbean at a speed of 20–25 miles per hour. Residents are being urged to remain alert, as downpours could lead to flash flooding in low-lying or poorly drained areas.

While the disturbance has not shown signs of tropical cyclone formation, officials say it is capable of generating brief periods of strong winds and rough seas, especially around thunderstorms.

Authorities are advising the public to stay tuned for updates from their local weather offices as the tropical wave continues its westward track into the Caribbean.
