Young players from two teams compete in the Under-10 division

Nevis trounced Young Warriors 9-1 in the Under-15 division of the Antigua Cup International Youth Football Tournament on Monday, recording the largest margin of victory to date in the inaugural edition of the competition.

Playing at the Buckley’s playing field, the visiting Nevis under-15s were led by Jaheem Hazel and Nizai’ah Skeete who both scored twice in the huge victory. There were single conversions from Romero Hanley, Kymarni Newton, Lajewan Jeffers and Lindel Abraham all for the winners. AJ Kirwan scored the lone goal for Young Warriors.

There was reprieve for the hosts in the Under-13 division as Young Warriors had the better of Lion Cub by a 4-2 margin. Omari Francis led the charge for Young Warriors with a hattrick while Kemari Brodie netted once. Mekhi Nathan and Yowan Benjamin both scored once for the losers.

The two teams then played to a scoreless draw in the Under-10 division.

On Sunday, Lion Cub recorded the largest margin of victory on the day, beating Young Warriors 8-0 in the Under-13 division also at Buckleys.

Malic LeBlanc led the charge for the victors with a hattrick. He received assistance from Miguel Payano who scored twice while there were single strikes from Khyreece Colbourne, Nathan and Benjamin.

There was a comprehensive triumph as well for Old Road as they beat Young Warriors 7-1 in the Under-17 division. Neveen Bretney recorded a hattrick with single strikes coming from Nathan Nicholas, Iczjaire Sebastian, Tenauri Simon and Tkai Williams. Francis scored the lone goal for Warriors.

In the Under-10 category, Lion Cub defeated Young Warriors 3-1. Kaden Wilman struck twice while Jahnoy LaFond converted once. In the other match contested, New Gen defeated Young Warriors in the Under-15 division.
