A shooting at the heavily secured YIDA Special Economic Zone on Sunday afternoon has left its owner, Yida Zhang, hospitalized and police searching for answers.
The attack occurred near a warehouse on the Crabbs Peninsula compound shortly after 4 p.m. Preliminary reports indicate that a gunman entered the property and shot Zhang.
He was taken to the hospital, where his condition was reported as stable.
Authorities have not determined a motive or established how the attacker gained access to the compound.
Police have launched an investigation and are expected to release additional information as inquiries continue.
The attack is the latest in a series of shootings in recent weeks and comes ahead of a national security meeting scheduled for Monday morning.
