An urgent appeal has been issued for information that could help locate a 7-year-old autistic girl who was reportedly taken from outside her home in Newfield Village on Saturday afternoon.

According to an account provided by the child’s mother, Marsha Christopher, the girl left the area with her father, who was reportedly driving a white Honda Fit. The vehicle’s registration number was not immediately available.

Christopher alleges that an existing court order provides for the father to have one hour of supervised visitation with the child each Saturday.

She further claims that a disagreement occurred Saturday after the father asked to take the child out on Monday and she declined. According to the mother’s account, the father subsequently left with the child.

Christopher also alleges that the father had previously made statements about taking the child to Dominica. These allegations have not been independently verified, and no determination of wrongdoing has been made.

The immediate priority is locating the child and confirming her safety.

Anyone who sees the child or a white Honda Fit believed to be connected to the matter is urged to contact police immediately. Members of the public should not attempt to approach or confront anyone involved.

Christopher can also be contacted at 775-1304, or information can be provided to any police station.
