Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, Hon. Michael Freeland, has extended congratulations to Kalin Fontaine following her outstanding achievement at the prestigious Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) Sirius Awards 2026.
Fontaine, Restaurant Manager at Carlisle Bay Antigua, was ranked among the Top 10 hospitality professionals globally after being selected from more than 10,000 hospitality professionals worldwide. She was also recognised as the only hospitality professional from the Caribbean to earn a place among the Top 100 honourees at the inaugural awards held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Speaking during FAB Fest 2026, Minister Freeland said it was an honour to present Fontaine with an award recognising her exceptional contribution to the global hospitality industry and her role in elevating Antigua and Barbuda’s reputation for luxury hospitality excellence.
“Kalin Fontaine continues to make Antigua and Barbuda proud through her professionalism, excellence, and dedication to delivering world-class hospitality experiences. Her accomplishment is not only a personal milestone, but a significant achievement for Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean region,” Minister Freeland stated.
Minister Freeland further noted that Fontaine’s success highlights the calibre of local talent within Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism and hospitality sector and serves as an inspiration to young professionals across the country.
